Vital EV electrifies Fully Charged Live 2022 with T-Series mobile DC charger

As the Official Infrastructure Partner of Fully Charged Live, Vital EV has electrified the world’s favourite EV show with its rental fleet of mobile DC chargers. Installed and monitored by Vital EV’s in-house team of engineers, the Kempower T-Series provided up to 40kW of rapid charging for the electric shuttle buses and the test drive sessions, with an impressive 100% uptime on all chargers.

The three-day day event at Farnborough International Exhibition Centre is part of the world’s largest series of electric vehicle shows. Vital EV’s T-Series rental fleet, which are fitted with dual CCS ports for simultaneous charging, catered for over 150 electric vehicles, from motorcycles to double-decker buses.

Robert Llewellyn, Founder of Fully Charged Live, remarked: “Fully Charged Live would like to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to our Official Infrastructure Partner, Vital EV Solutions, for their excellent support and contribution to our biggest and best show yet. We were thoroughly impressed by their EV charging and engineering expertise, which ensured that the rapid charging for both the electric shuttle buses and Ride & Drive sessions was a complete success”.

There are two variants of the T-Series to suit different applications; the T500 is ideal for sub-500v battery vehicles like electric cars and LCVs in the test drive sessions while the T800 was used to charge higher voltage (500v to 800v) vehicles like the electric shuttle buses and electric trucks.

Drivers can access live charging data simply by scanning the QR Code displayed on the 7” touchscreen display of the T-Series, while event organisers access to the ChargEye charge management portal which offers further functionality.

Nic Rae, Managing Director of Vital EV, commented: “Climate change is an issue that is very close to our hearts and we are therefore proud to be the ‘Official Infrastructure Partner’ to such a high-profile event. Supplying the charging to Fully Charged Live is the perfect way for us to demonstrate both the strength of our products and of our engineering support”.

On the Vital EV stand, the ‘ChargEye Command Centre’ gave visitors a glimpse into this powerful charge management and control software, which also allows users to remotely schedule charge times, configure charge prioritisation and download usage reports.

Over the course of the three days, each of the Kempower T500s used in the test drives dispensed an average of 388.6kWh of energy while the T800s distributed an average of over 1.1MW.

Vital EV’s specially-fabricated ‘T-Series Safety Frame’ improved the portability of the T-Series while reducing the risk of damage and theft. The weatherproof design conforms to IP54 standards, making them the ideal solution for temporary and event EV charging – even in British weather!

As the UK distributor of Kempower products, Vital EV offers a full range of services from sales and rental to installation and servicing. Vital EV’s team of engineers are based strategically across the UK that provide customer support 24/7, 365 days a year with a 4-hour Service Level Agreement (SLA).
