Vital EV electrifies mobility at COP26 with T-Series mobile DC charger

Vital EV has supplied its Kempower T-Series mobile DC EV chargers for COP26 in Glasgow – the world’s largest climate change event. The movable rapid chargers will be used to charge vehicles transporting delegates around the summit, with Vital EV providing support throughout the two-week long event.

Providing up to 40kW of mobile DC charging, the Kempower T-Series is the ideal solution for temporary EV charging. Thanks to the lightweight design and robust wheels, the Kempower T-Series can be transported easily around charging sites and car parks while the weatherproof design allows for both indoor and outdoor operation.

Kempower’s products are perfect fit for COP26 as the company itself set an ambitious target of reaching a 99% end of lifetime recyclability rate for all its products, with its T-Series charger already achieving a recyclability rate of 99.61%.

The T-Series will be charging vehicles used for the transport of world leaders and dignitaries to and from the venue. The T500 units are fitted with dual CCS ports for simultaneous charging and are supplied with ChargEye – Kempower’s charge management software which allows users to monitor and control each charger individually.

As the UK distributor of Kempower products, Vital EV has assisted the sale with installation and commissioning support and Vital EV technicians will remain in Glasgow for the duration of the summit for ongoing training and charge management.

Nic Rae, Managing Director of Vital EV, commented: “Climate change is an issue that is very close to our hearts and we are therefore proud to be supplying the T-Series to such a high-profile and global event. As a company that works hard to provide tailor-made solutions for businesses choosing to electrify their fleet and reduce their carbon footprint, we look forward to further commitments from global leaders to environmentally-friendly and sustainable transport”.

As well as displaying live charge data, ChargEye also allows users to schedule charge times, remote operation, configure charge prioritisation and download usage reports.

In addition to the T-Series mobile DC EV chargers, Kempower also manufactures the compact S-Series and modular C-Series which are perfect for permanent, large-scale depot charging. As part of the Vital Group of companies, Vital EV has a team of engineers based strategically across the UK that provide customer support 24/7, 365 days a year with a 4-hour Service Level Agreement (SLA).
